Recently , Power Automate has given us the possibility of updating Power BI datasets in a user-friendly way, using a graphical interface and selection lists. Although behind the scenes it connects to the Power BI API .
This option is still much more versatile than what I will explain in this article, since you can place it in one of the activities of an entire integration flow without a time gap between the execution of the ETL and the update of the Dataset itself .

There are different types of triggers for flows, there are those that depend on an uncontrolled action, such as the arrival of an email or the update of an Excel in Sharepoint ; and then there are the instant and scheduled ones. In this data update exercise we will use the instant trigger, we give it a name, select manual execution and create.
We will proceed to create our flow with a manual execution action.
We will add our next step by clicking on “+ New step ” and searching for Power BI
In this section we select “ Refresh a dataset (preview) ”
