Today, companies should not question the fact of undergoing change. There are many factors that make change mandatory, and the adaptation process a duty.
But in that case, are organizations capable of changing on their own? The answer is no! This change must be appropriately channeled towards the organization's collaborators. This is where leaders have the opportunity to take on a leading role and lead as an Agent of Change .
The role of leaders as a successful Change Agent in an organization is to empower their collaborators at different levels so that they can anticipate change, analyze the environment, and act decisively and collaboratively.
How do we become an effective agent of change?
Since we began our work as G-Talent in 2014, our starting point has been the goal of everyone taking control of their future by training in the most in-demand skills in the world of work.
With this insight, we knew we would have to build a diverse team in many ways, both in thought, culture, and perspective.
So, we knew we needed to be a place where everyone is accepted equally. A safe space where every professional could be seen and recognized. That's how we took the following points that led us to be an effective Change Agent .
1. Understanding
As Change Agents , we try to have tools to manage emotional intelligence (being perceptive, intuitive and reflective). In this way, we can anticipate the level of resistance with which we can formulate a strategy.
2. Understand Short and Long Term Goals
Having a clear understanding of our objectives has been the key that has helped us hire the right staff, where we seek to foster their development and create a positive work environment.
3. Take a Proactive Role
Because HR is in contact with all levels of staff, they tend to have a more nuanced sense of the issues around productivity. We leverage the interpersonal skills of each team member to effectively convey ideas and issues staff may have, as well as management’s goals for the workforce.
4. Effective Communication
Many headaches can be avoided by communicating with the entire team of collaborators. That is why we look for the appropriate spaces to help our team understand how the changes will directly benefit them as employees.
5. Diversity and Inclusion
We have a person within the team who is in charge of promoting an environment in which each member feels part of the G-Talent family.
This person's mission is to ensure that each team member feels recognized, that they can express what they think and are able to make contributions and give the best of themselves. With this, we seek to bring out the best version of themselves.
6. Equal Opportunities
We know that the end of inequality in the workplace will not occur if companies do not take an active role in this regard. For this reason, we are constantly working to ensure that our selection process is inclusive.
Currently, we continue to search for opportunities for improvement to strengthen our policy of embracing diversity, so one of our actions to take into account in the selection process is non-discrimination based on any variable or identity.
7. Working Conditions
We aim to provide each member of the G-Talent team with a safe and comfortable environment that adapts to their professional and personal needs.
For this reason, our benefits apply to all team members, regardless of their ethnic-racial identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, nationality or whether they have a disability.
We are certain that diversity is the spearhead of positive changes within our company.
...And in society in general, since we decided to put it into practice as an agent of change, we have noticed a great impact on:
- We have achieved a higher retention rate
- Access to incredible and committed talent pools.
- Spaces that are friendly to the LGTBIQ+ workforce and where we have learned the importance of the value of diversity in society.
Our goal is to achieve a Latin America where every person feels included, welcomed and recognized in the space in which they operate and in the role they play. The change of the future is in our hands.
